This Is Not A Drill

This is not a drill, every American
got this role to fill. Keep staring in
this abyss, and hope it ain’t a mirror.
We’re all on cliffs, we’re coping with terror.
Let’s open the narrow window we still got.
Gonna be harrowing, but fear not.
We’re gonna make it through
if it isn’t a mission we wait to do.
So here’s your cue. Put your vote in.
Don’t mail it to ’em, they got the mail broken.
Deliver that thing yourself to where it goes
while keeping your mask up over your nose.
And if you must show to cast it in person,
take up your pen and double make certain
the devil’s not lurking just behind.
He also votes. He’s next in line.
And I expect it’s fine. There’s many more of us
than there are of him. He’s gonna make a fuss.
We’re gonna hold the line. We’re gonna flood the street.
He’s gonna call it crime and send the heat.
So get a gas mask while they’re still in stock,
and get your ass ready to defend the block.
