News From The Front

Gamertag Radio’s MC Front interview was pre-PAX, but you can enjoy it still. Seattle Times piece was mid-PAX, meaning we all passed it around the booths with glee.

Poor Frontalot! He and Gm7 have got no place to live! They are looking around their neighborhood (Prospect Heights in Brooklyn) and down the southeast side of the park (Lefferts Gardens or something) but all decent apartments are in the clutches of shady broker types. Do you have a line on a rad place for them to live (with wee mutt Doggy Fresh too)?  Run, don’t walk, to your email client.

Holy smokes. That was the best PAX yet. Front extends protracted thanks to Gabe, Tycho, Khoo, the Enforcers (particularly several among you, yes you, you know who you are), the other bands (big ups to The 1 Ups, Neskimos, Optimus, Minibosses, Freezepop, and Mr. Coulton who loaned Front a guitar), and to every single person who came by the booth over the weekend and was nice to Front’s mom. Cheers all around!

Also! Do you know who is friendly? And good at giving keynote speeches? Wil Wheaton. For serious though. The man even has too much class to jump the line for meeting nerdcore rappers.

Front is back in Brooklyn and looking forward to the Weds night show. Join him there!

Front takes to the air! Landing in Seattle this afternoon for the High Dive show with Optimus, Beefy, Router, Goondocks. Then for PAX, oh glorious PAX! And Saturday night in front of more of you kids than he’s ever seen in one place, with Jonathan Coulton and Minibosses. Which town should you be in this weekend? We have a suggestion.

Wall Street Journal quotes Front today. Apparently he is eighth in line to head up the Federal Reserve. Going to have to brush up on monetary policy. Going to have to buy a green visor. In other news, there are some new pics in the fan art gallery.

Long, throbbing interview with MC Frontalot over at Suicide Girls. Go there to read it.

Tickets for the Union Hall (Brooklyn) show are available! Here’s you, clicking for them. It’s too late for PAX pre-reg, but you can get in to the con day-of, assuming fifty thousand other gamers didn’t get the same idea and show up to stand in line directly in front of you. If you’re missing PAX but are in Seattle, get to the High Dive on thursday the 23rd for Front plus Optimus plus Goondocks plus Beefy plus Router equals nerdvana! And speaking of geekish glee, the Kingdom of Loathing convention is not too far off. Front plays that Satiddy night (Sept 15), with kindred spirits The Minibosses. There’s rumor of the addition of a certain other nerdcore rapper we all adore. But you didn’t hear it from us.

Perhaps all this concerty goodness will distract you from the tragic cancellation of this year’s innauguralNerdapalooza. Sniff! We hardly knew ye.

Good Morning! The splashy promo page for Secrets From The Future is finally up, with teaser tracks galore. You can check it out right now.

But first! You must take a moment to appreciate the brand new Hit Single Dispenser, up next to the giant logo at the top of the page. For this, we thank Joe Rheaume, master of The Core Wars and Pirate Jesus. And while we’re thanking folks, let’s hear it for Dev Angel Alice, who has beefed up the RSS about a jillion percent. Now feeding: song postings, new pics and videos, dorknotes, etcetera. Put it in bloglines or whatever and you even get the enclosures. Maybe Ted Stevens can explain the finer technical points of it when he gets out of the slammer.

We’re pretty sure We’ve confimed that Front and Jesse Dangerously will be doing a show together in Brooklyn on August 29th. It’s at Union Hall, doors at 7:30. We’re already convinced that the mid-September Indiana and Arizona shows are going to kick ass. And before any of that: PAX. See the calendar for detailiness.

In other news, the Stoopid Pigeon Treasury is the best comic book Front’s read in a long time, and Starving In The Belly Of A Whale is the best cartoon of a Tom Waits song he’s seen since… ever.

Hey, are you a sucker? Are you so much of one that you have already spent five or more dollars to join theValued Sucker Program? If so, log your ass in and check out the new video for It Is Pitch Dark in quicktimeor divx. But don’t be posting it up on the youtubes just yet. It is a sux0r eXclewziv3. The unsinkable Jason Scottshot it just before Front’s April tour launch. Why have we been sitting on it so long? Basically just to be mean. The song and video stand in service of Mr. Scott’s documentary about text adventures, and those of you who never played any will probably be confounded by the lyric. MP3 also available (to suckers). (Did we mention: be a sucker?)

Front and cohorts braved the Brooklyn mob scene to catch The Simpsons in a theater last night. Unlike the most recent ten years of the show, it was not particularly depressing! MC Frontalot found himself tittering, guffawing, etc, throughout. Recommended.

Also recommended: check out a couple new desktop backgrounds in the gallery.

Front labors ever onward! New songs in the works. They are secret. Buy the new record to tide you over.

Nerdcore keeps on asploding! See the Sunday Telegraph, the Washington Post, and MTV Canada! Many cheers to chris, yt, Jesse, Hella, and everyone else who keeps dorking it out for the world press. Somehow or other we will turn the people of the earth into a bunch of geniuses.

Hey! Who is good at Flash? Front has a little project for you: hacking an open-source mp3 jukebox applet to play hit singles on the front page of the site. It’s designed; needs implementin’. Volunteer!
