SOURCE KITS USE AGREEMENT
By downloading any material from this site, user is hereby aware that MC Frontalot does not release any rights derived from the material. That means it belongs to MC Frontalot even though you (the "user") gets this chance to fuss around with it.1) Read the agreement above, click your agreeableness, then download a source kit from the list. Source kits are .zip files with the following inside:
2) Pull the audio material from the .zip. Vocal tracks will all be syncronized to the same zero point. Some songs maintain a steady BPM, which you can reference with a single looped bar of the original song's percussion. Some layouts change up slightly at the chorus or have other eccentric qualities (read: shoddy workmanship by Front). In these cases the notes will explain how to create a reference layout of the varied fragments. Because all software sequencers treat BPM divisions differently, the only exact numbers you will find in the notes are sample counts.
3) Use your awesome DJ powers to create a brand new music bed for the song. You are welcome to mash it up however you like, but keep in mind that the only songs accepted back into the OSB for posting at frontalot.com:
4) Log in. You'll need a system account.
5) If this is your first submission, you'll need to provide:
6) Enter the name of your remix and submit your file (10MB or less) using the http upload form at the above left.
7) Wait. Front or one of his cohorts will approve your submission as soon as possible. It will appear on the OSB page, VSP kids will vote on its relative awesomeness, and it will have a chart position. The three top-charting remixes appear also on the MP3 page, as does the newest approved OSB track.
8) Enjoy some pie.
