Frontalot is running a temperature! So, clearly, the wise move is to abandon sunshiney California and kick it in New York for the rest of the winter. That is today's endeavor, and the airports are rife with muzak. Our intrepid rapper soliders on.
Anywhere near Palm Springs? Why don't you go to Wednesday's showing of Nerdcore Rising at that town's International Film Festival? It begins at seven in the evening and details are readily available.
The whole internet has been very patient in its knuckle-biting anticipation of the Wallflowers Video Contest results. Trust us that the judging was extremely difficult. Everyone who entered was in fine, fine form. But! Highlander. So:
Our grand prize winner is: nicreations with this absolutely on-point stop-motion bonanza. Nic will win all the Frontalot merch that there is, plus a freestyle about his awesomeness.
First runner is: The Dean Of Rhyme, who told a touching story of dancing in front of cardboard robots and then ripping their hearts out. Justin wins his two favorite Frontalot shirts and a hearty congratulations.
Second runner is: ataric0n with some extremely kickass editing chops. You win a firm handshake and the CD of your choice.
Honorable Mention goes to: fuzzy gerdes who took the central idea of the song and did not let go of it. We hope fuzzy clutches it still, as it is the only prize available. That and a button pack, okay, fine.
Thanks again to everyone who competed! Frontalot has long deemed his fans to be a tasteful, talented bunch, and he is glad to have these contest entries to prove it.
A happy several days to you, winter-time religious celebration enthusiast! Front chills in Berkeley with Ma Front and Doggy Fresh, and looks forward to eating some Chinese food, phoning relatives, and not having to be anywhere in time for sound check.
Your gifts are already purchased, but get (for yourself) one of these charity CDs from the fine folks at Child's Play. Front's got a song on there, as does each of these Frontal allies: JoCo, Beefy, Lars, The OneUps, Anamanaguchi, Freezepop.
Front flirts dangerously with respectability! He is featured as Spin Magazine's artist of the day all day long (today). They reviewed Final Boss, too.
Tour's over! Front will see you all at the Nerdcore Rising premiere in New York on Feb 13th. Until then, let him rest. Oh, and order your xmas merch immediately -- it will take 7 days to get to you (in the lower 48).
Vienna, the boys are on their way. Baltimore tomorrow! Perhaps you seek a preview before venturing forth... Did you hear some of the live tracks from Los Angeles? The whole set is available to the VSP. There are also toobs to be seeing: Grammarian from KoL Con and Negin's latest videoblog, which cliffhangs you with its trailer wreckage footage. Check 'em out.
The gang plays Pittsburgh on Saturday night (after a Friday in Philly and before their bow-out in Hoboken) and they need you to help spread the word. Are you a CMU student? Write to yook@frontalot.com about teaming for us in the CS dept and elsewhere. You will be rewarded.
Front, Lotus, Gorthon, the Genius, and Mighty YT are chilling at a Digital Gangster paradise on a lake in one of the Carolinas. Tonight's Charlotte show will witness their reunion with Lars. After that, it's Harrisonburg, Vienna, Baltimore, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and finally Hoboken. Your chances to see this nerdcore miasma in person grow ever more scant. Take heed!
Front thanks everyone for the birth-a-ma-day wishes. He and crew scramble to get to Disneyworld today. Friday it's off to Georgia for the Marietta show. Nerdcore Rising is in Atlanta that same night! Head over right after the film to catch Front's set.
