Brandon Patton aka BL4k Lotus has recorded, and is performing live, a cover of "Indier Than Thou", as if [rapper name redacted] were Johnny Cash.

I have to say I preferred the live version.

Yes, but without making his vocals sound like Cash, which I preferred, making it less parodic, and more of a clever cover, (which strangely enough, makes it more like Cash, since he had done whole albums of clever covers).

I'd like to hear the live version, too. I think the genre shift is what's brilliant about it (because it works so well), rather than the 'Cash element'.

I liked the Cash element but I'll be able to make a more informed decision TOMORROW! ^_^

I once went to a karaoke thing with my friend Ed, and he sang a Johnny Cash song... it could have actually been Johnny Cash singing. It was mad.

The next challenge is to get front to perform one of his older tracks over a Johnny Cash beat, I suggest Folsom Prison Blues
