Maybe I'll have a better answer by year's end. But in case I don't, don't remind me to come back to this thread.
...Or maybe I'll make my own. As for now: unfulfilling part-time cashiering, which pays for schoolings. |

@Anthson
Sir, you are hardcore. Are you like the champion there? I mean if some geek gets arrested for hacking. Will you keep him safe? Do you wear a cape? -- ahem --- My current title is Software/Systems Engineer, and I work for a simulation company in Orlando. At the beginning of 2009 I was a Game Developer. Sadly it was a matter of money, and politics that I made several jobs changes until I found something truly full-filling. Today I am happy with what I do. I make games for the military, and I save lives. |

I work in event management. Specifically, I book hotel rooms. Mostly. And for all my bitching about certain co-workers, I do love it. There is nothing like the sense of pride that comes with a job well done and every year I get to see actual fruits of my labor and I'm still in awe even after all these years.

I work for the former chef of Google. He opened a restaurant & market last year and I work on the market side. For the most part I enjoy it, but there are times when... not so much.

I do advanced cell phone tech support. I'm a call center lead, which means that when the agents you talk to on the phone can't figure out why your data card is suddenly not registering on your PC, they put you on hold for 3 minutes and ask me how to fix it. I don't love it, but I really like the people I work with (plus I work with C0splay, though he's on a different contract than I am), which is sad because I'm so totally getting laid off at the end of the month.

1. Work at an indie record store 2. Tutor English, science and history out of the local college 3. Have been co-opted by a clothing company as a graphic designer/consultant 4. Draw, write and sell comics, at conventions or over the internet. ... 5. Will be dying of exhaustion any day now ;-) |

Not in love. I just want to drive forklifts again. I miss driving forklifts. My favorite was the Hyster 50 (5000lb lift.) My friends and I would have forklift races around our store after hours. I never won... I was too afraid of dumping it. These days I work as something called a "field service rep" for a corporate housing company. I won't get rich doing it, but is otherwise a near-perfect job. I get to drive out to various apartments my company has leases on, and quality inspect them. It's perfect because I'm remote from the office (which is 90 miles away) and my boss is hands off. He lets me do my job any way I see fit, as long as it gets done. I can wear whatever I want, and don't have to get involved in the annoying office politics that detract my co-workers. I get paid for the mileage I drive, which is so much that sometimes my expense checks are larger than my pay checks. I also get paid while I'm driving, so getting stuck in traffic is just easy money in my pocket. Plus, I have Zero Day blasting while I do, so really, it's tough to beat my job. Usually. |
