Seen any good shows lately? |

Oh! I also saw Kid Sister in Austin two weeks ago. That show was RAD. She's got a lot of energy and I just really, really love her style. If she's yet to come through your town, make sure you make it to her show!

The Buzzcocks played in Boston recently. I went to the show. Those guys are O L D !!! But they still rocked hard, and the audience was quite a mix of college kids, middle-age crisis folks (e.g. myself) and old fogeys (who probably went to their shows in the 70's). Everyone was singing along & moshing. It was a good time.

I was working at a uk festival called T4 on the Beach, today, its basically a festival where all the UKS most mainstream pop acts come and perform for TV purposes, but they also had a smaller stage with some great hiphop acts on (which I managed to watch as I was basically doing PA/outreach work) and I really suggest you check out 'Skepta' he's a UK Grime artist, whos pretty damn talented:
Heres a video of him freestyling on Westwood, picks up at about 1 minute properly, (Westwoods a complete spoon, but give Skepta a listen): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uxPF9Vl3zwM |

Last month I saw an "Old School" concert and it was uh. mazing.
I saw Salt n' Pepa, Big Daddy Kane, Doug E. Fresh and Rob Base. I was in rap heaven. |

Played with Astronautalis and Ceschi this month. I highly recommend either of them to you.

It was a good weekend. |

Recently I've managed to catch Buck-O-Nine, The Apples In Stereo, Fol Chen, Jill Sobule, Fountains of Wayne, TMBG (three times!) and of course our favorite nerdcore MCs Front, Lars, Random and yt.
It's been a good couple months for shows. Well, except that I'm old now, so concerts usually lead to copious amounts of lower back and knee pain these days. |

By the way, the chris/Front/Schaffer show on Friday was great. I took my sisters and their boyfriends and 2 of their friends and they all loved it!
The next day they all agreed that "Frontalot won the night". They thought Schaffer was hit and miss (Cat People does not go over well with everyone - myself included) and they thought chris was a douche, but they loved Front!! :) |

I saw Chris play in Boston and Jesse D. opened for him (hey, he's a core nerd right?). Anyway, Jesse's performance blew away chris' and Jesse was even nursing a cold that night! Also, Chris was a douche. EDIT: Cat People is spot on. thus proving Bluebird's hit-or-miss assertion ;) |

It was the first one I heard of StD's, too, so it took me a while to get into him and discover that he does have songs that I like. Jesse might argue that nerdcore label, IDK. But your story doesn't surprise me. |

Eh, mc chris has been pretty good for a couple of tours now with nerdcore openers. I think he still worries about some acts surpassing him and outshining him, but as long as he's the top of the bill, he's chill. Doesn't say much about his character I suppose, but I don't think Front would be breakfasting with him in Brooklyn if he was intolerable, though Front is pretty sweet and layed back.

Rad shows I've seen recently (well, since the last comments on the thread):
-Atari Teenage Riot: The most intense 2-3 hours of my life ever. It was just beyond comprehension how intense that show was. It was like being fired with a cannon full synths and beats. I don't think I've have even heard speed metal acts as brutal and intense as this show. They even smashed up their Atari 800 at the end, I grabbed some keys from it. I have yet to see a show top it, but these came very close: -Odd Future: Ever see live footage of Nirvana, and how crazy their crowds seemed? Yeah, it was that kind of energy, and I'm not even exaggerating. The show was like stepping into 1992: so visceral, so emotional, so raw. OFWGKTA's crowd interaction was amazing too; people threw up handmade shirts and cool hats, and they just put that stuff on and did their set in it. Plus, the after party was excellent. -Dillon Francis/Skrillex: The club was just packed and throbbing, even though this was an afterparty for the set they'd done earlier in the night at a bigger venue. Everyone was losing their minds to moombahton and dubstep. The DJ just had the crowd in the palm of their hands. I never would've thought I'd see that kind of vibe at a night club, but it was almost as stage-divey and crazy as Odd Future. |
