Got me a new mouse after about 9 years of using my state of the art old Logitech Mouseman with hot-off-the-presses laser tracking AND mousewheel. Got me a Logitech G5 mouse which is pretty nice EXCEPT that Logitech's driver package is these days called Setpoint and it is EQUALLY SHITTY to the shitty logitech driver package I swiftly uninstalled nine years ago (and then again when XP came out). SO ANYHOW. The driver remains installed but the Setpoint is pbbbgbbbththth [delete].

Is there any way to make windows recognize the "tilt wheel" input without having Setpoint installed? That is the only thing that doesn't work.

Setpoint is awful, but after searching and searching fruitlessly for something like the wonderful USB Overdrive for Mac, I discovered a mod for Setpoint called Uberoptions that allows you to set application-specific bindings and so forth, which was mainly what I was looking for. That might make it more tolerable for you, if that helps.

For a company that makes such good mice, their software division sure vomits out some putrid nuggets of worthless filth.
